Building Your American Dream
Ask Bruce Pasquarella what distinguishes American Eagle Builders Inc. from other high end custom home building companies across the Upstate and he doesn’t hesitate.
“I’m a hands-on builder,” the Pennsylvania native says. “Our project management team is at the jobsite each and every day. I also make certain to personally visit each site at least three times a week, sometimes more. As a company, we’re versatile. And we work hard at building good relationships with clients. Our goal is to deliver a quality project, and to provide prompt, courteous service from the design stage through post-occupancy services.”
Pasquarella started American Eagle Builders six years ago. He’d spent ten years in construction as a skilled tradesman and a qualified construction manager before venturing out on his own.
Today, there is no question he made the right choice. American Eagle Builders is expected to complete 10 houses this year. It’s a number that has climbed steadily each of the last five years.
With a price tag that generally runs between $500,000 to in excess of $1 million, the homes American Eagle Builders have constructed are found in some of Greenville County’s most prestigious neighborhoods including Claremont, Acadia, Griffith Farm, Greythorne, and Greywood at Hammett. These upscale neighborhoods, along with others located in the Greater Greenville area, feature a wide array of choices at various price levels and are all situated within South Carolina’s top rated school districts.
American Eagle Builders is the preferred builder for The Valley Villas, 14 custom luxury homes located in the heart of the Cliffs Valley community. They are also part of the exclusive Builder Guild for Acadia, a new upscale village community on 300 acres being developed along the Saluda River. “In addition to custom homes in Acadia, we’re building the clubhouse, known as the River House, which will be situated along the Saluda River.” Pasquarella says.
Admittedly, Pasquarella says, he has come a long way. He graduated from high school in 1979, and got his start in construction – framing houses, trim carpentry, and roofing. “I did a little bit of everything,” he says. After being injured in a construction accident, he decided to go back to school. He moved south, and enrolled at Clemson University, where he earned his degree.
After completing school, Pasquarella worked as a project manager for Southern Homes of the Upstate, overseeing the construction of 75 homes located in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. He subsequently moved back to Pennsylvania when he was offered a position as a commercial project manager.
“I built a Lutheran church, a Baptist church, and a Jewish synagogue,” he says. “I built a $17 million dollar retirement community and a $4 million performing arts center for a Christian school. Those were the five larger projects I worked on during the three years that I was back up there. However, I just couldn’t get acclimated again to the North after living down here for 10 years.” So he headed back to the Upstate of South Carolina, where he took a job in multi-family construction. However, this position was not the type that Bruce could apply his creative skills to so he decided to venture out on his own.
“I had such a strong desire to create custom homes that I knew I would succeed” he stated. “I found a house plan, and then a building lot in Asheton Springs. I wrote a contract on that first house three months after I started it. I completed it in four and a half months.”
“I don’t really feel like I work for a living any more. I really love what I do.” And he has a solid team backing him up. His brother, Jerry Pasquarella, is vice president of operations. Jerry began working in construction in 1978. He learned many of his business skills during the years he spent in operations management for a major manufacturing company. He is very excited to be back in the construction field, especially working with Bruce. He implemented the much acclaimed Master Builder software which has aided in taking American Eagle Builders to the next level.
Project Manager Steve Koceja has over 16 years of construction management and homebuilding experience. He is ICC certified in plumbing, electrical, erosion control, and is OSHA certified.
Wanda Sisk, who has been with American Eagle Builders since its inception, serves as office manager. But as all of their clients have learned, she does much more than manage a busy office. She acts as liaison between the clients and the various subcontractors. She works with the clients throughout the entire building process, and post construction, to ensure their complete satisfaction with every aspect of their dream home. She received her real estate license in December 2007 so that she will be able to market and sell American Eagle Builder homes.
Dianne Pasquarella brings over 15 years of decorating experience to American Eagle Builders. As soon as ground is broken on a new home, she helps clients in making the complicated decisions required in the various design and selections process. She is also available after occupancy to assist the new homeowners with decorating and furnishing their new dream home.
Bruce’s fiancé recently joined the company as Marketing Director. Alexis Lewis holds a Real Estate License and came to American Eagle Builders from the Home Builders Association of Greenville as the Membership Director. She coordinates all aspects of marketing for the company and is truly enjoying working so closely with Bruce and her future brother-in-law.
Together, the American Eagle Builders team has earned a reputation for quality, integrity and reliability.
